At First Class Infant Learning Center, we believe that every child is unique and has their own way of learning. That's why we incorporate a variety of teaching methods to cater to each child's individual needs. Our view of children’s development and learning is based on the children’s natural play and natural exploration. The program follows the Piaget teaching approach that influences the creation of all curriculum that are geared towards each child in which is all done through play-based experiences. With this approach, we are able to recognize each child’s areas of strength and areas of growth through their natural play time, to further support the children and their individual developmental needs.
At First Class Infant Learning Center, the mission is to serve high-quality education for all infants enrolled to achieve all learning goals to ensure the quality of their success in their early years of learning thereafter. In addition, the mission of the program is to promote family engagement and cultural inclusivity in an environment that is safe, respectful, and healthy. The program aims to maintain not only a high-functioning program but also a high-quality program that supports the foundation of each child’s development. The program focuses on play-based learning that strives for each child to explore through natural play. The goal of the program is not only to help nurture and educate young children but to support the families in collaboration to aid children in their learning journey.
The program is designed to meet the individual developmentally appropriate educational needs of each infant enrolled, using the DRDP (2015) Infant-Toddler (Desired Results Developmental Profile), a learning tool to gauge the status of the infant’s current stage of development, as well as the infant’s goals to reach the next appropriate milestone. Upon enrollment, families must fill out an ASQ-3, a questionnaire of what skills their child(s) can do, to better understand where the child(s) is developmentally in the DRDP tool to create the proper DRDP goals for the infants. The DRDP tool tracks the progress of the child’s self-regulation, cognitive, social-emotional, language and literacy, and physical development.
